Cranston, R.I. – Thursday, April 16, 2020—As global business leaders and owners grapple with the impact of COVID-19 on their existing strategies, models and infrastructures, the question becomes: what’s next? Committed to helping leaders come together to explore how to re-position and align their businesses for the next incarnation, four Rhode Island-based businesses have partnered to launch a recurring virtual event series, “Let’s Think Our Way to neXt.”

The bi-weekly series, which kicks off on April 22 from 10-11 am, is being sponsored by Trilix, District Hall Providence, Tech Collective and Spartina Consulting. Each event will feature two to four speakers who will spark dialogue on how to solve today’s business challenges from a new dimension of thinking and begin taking action in unchartered territory.

Tim Hebert, Trilix CEO/Founder: “There is no master blueprint to follow when it comes to how to successfully position your business to thrive during this time because we have never been in this place before. As a result, we have to be willing to detach from old assumptions about what this year would bring and be willing to prepare and open our minds to what is possible. We are thrilled to partner with three incredible organizations on creating space for fellow leaders to come together to explore new ways of thinking to solve challenges we have never experienced before.”

Jen Silbert, Co-founder of Spartina Consulting: “So many written and unwritten rules no longer serve us. In less than a month humanity shined a bright light on interdependence and inequity. At the same time, we proved that cleaner air is possible in the least likely metropolises; that business can be repurposed [literally, overnight] as agents of world benefit; that a community’s health and wellness is only as good as the health and wellness of every individual living in it. I’m as bewildered and anxious as I am intrigued and hopeful, excited really, to envision what’s ‘neXt.’”

Joe Devine, Executive Director of Tech Collective: “The last month has seen so many of us accelerate our use of technology to keep our businesses moving forward. While our post-COVID transformations won’t be exclusively about technology, I’m very interested to see how leaders find new ways to digitally transform their operations to provide improved customer experiences and drive new revenue growth strategies.”

The inaugural event will feature Hetzel Silbert as the group facilitator and moderator, and guest speakers: Walter Berbrick, Associate Professor, War Gaming Department at U.S. Naval War College; Allison Ingalsbe, Design Thinking Facilitator; and Todd Knapp, Owner, Envision Technology Advisors.

The speakers will dive into several core questions including:

  • Consider leaders near and far that you most admire most right now. From your perspective, what leadership qualities are going to prevail, even thrive in what’s ‘neXt’?
  • What big leaps or innovations are you and your colleagues proudly, maybe defiantly making now that were previously unimaginable?
  • What new written or unwritten rules do you aspire to see on the other side of this, both in the context of your work and beyond?
